Borussia Dortmund are set to square off against FC Augsburg in the Bundesliga this weekend in what will be their first competitive game of 2023.

Borussia Dortmund will be determined to get their Bundesliga campaign back on track in the second half of the season. And they are set to kick-start the new year with a home game against FC Augsburg.

Edin Terzic will know that his side cannot afford to take Augsburg lightly. Enrico Maaßen’s side have already beaten Bayern Munich this season. And the former BVB II head coach will be eager to get one over on his former club on Sunday.

Sebastien Haller could be in line for his first competitive appearance for the Black and Yellows on Sunday. New signing Julian Ryerson is also set to feature. But Marco Reus has been dealing with an illness and is a doubt for the game. Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey are the only injury absentees for BVB.

Goalkeeper: Gregor Kobel

Gregor Kobel was one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers in the first half of the season. And he will be aiming to pick up right where he left off. The Swiss shot-stopper will also be hoping for improved defensive performances from those in front of him.
