Borussia Dortmund target Ivan Fresneda to stay at Real Valladolid until the end of the season

Highly rated full-back Ivan Fresneda will not be joining Borussia Dortmund this month despite being heavily linked with a move to the club.

Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Ivan Fresneda from Real Valladolid. But the talented young right-back is set to stay with the Spanish club at least until the end of the season. According to multiple reports, the two clubs will not be able to reach an agreement before the transfer window closes on Tuesday.

It was reported earlier this month that Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal had both reached an agreement with Real Valladolid for the signature of Fresneda; and the player would be making a decision on his next club imminently before returning to the Spanish club on loan until the end of the season.

But it appears that no agreement has yet been reached, and any potential move for the right-back has now been postponed until the summer transfer window.

Ivan Fresneda is enjoying a breakthrough season with Real Valladolid and is considered to be one of the most talented young full-backs in Europe. A number of big clubs are said to be interested in signing the 18 year old defender, who has two and a half years left on his current contract.

Borussia Dortmund have already completed the signing of Julian Ryerson from Union Berlin this month. Although they may look to further bolster their squad at right-back in the summer, with Thomas Meunier and Felix Passlack both expected to leave the club at the end of the season.
