Borussia Dortmund will look to keep their winning run going this weekend as they square off against SC Freiburg in the Bundesliga.

Borussia Dortmund have done an excellent job of closing the gap to Bayern Munich in their first three Bundesliga games of 2023. On Saturday, the Black and Yellows will look to continue to build on their impressive recent run as they take on fifth placed SC Freiburg at the Signal Iduna Park.

We are all set for a hard fought game between two quality teams who are level on points going into matchday 19 of the Bundesliga season. With a number of crunch games coming up over the next few weeks, Borussia Dortmund will know the importance of getting the three points against Freiburg.

Edin Terzic will have the majority of his squad available to him on Saturday, with Salih Özcan, Julien Duranville, Thomas Meunier and Mateu Morey the only players who are currently sidelined.

Gregor Kobel will start in goal for Borussia Dortmund on Saturday, fresh off his stunning performance against Bayer Leverkusen. The Swiss shot stopper will be aiming to keep another clean sheet this weekend.

Marius Wolf impressed against Bayer Leverkusen, and should keep his spot at right-back. Julian Ryerson is more than capable of slotting in at left-back, and is likely to start there again on Saturday. Niklas Süle and Nico Schlotterbeck are expected to start in central defence once again after helping Borussia Dortmund keep a clean sheet against Bayer Leverkusen.

With Salih Özcan suspended, we could well see a formation change on Saturday with Emre Can likely to start in the number six role. Jude Bellingham will partner him in midfield, and we could see Marco Reus make his first start for Borussia Dortmund since September. Gio Reyna could also be an option if Reus is not ready to play from the start yet.

Julian Brandt is in fine form at the moment and will have a crucial role to play in attack. Karim Adeyemi should also keep his spot on the left wing after ending his goal drought last weekend. Sebastien Haller showed glimpses of his quality against Bayer Leverkusen, and should start up front once again on Saturday.
