No decision yet on Mahmoud Dahoud’s Borussia Dortmund future
Mahmoud Dahoud is still facing an uncertain future at Borussia Dortmund, with less than six months left on his current contract.
Mahmoud Dahoud’s contract with Borussia Dortmund is set to expire at the end of the season, and it still remains to be seen what the future holds for him. According to Sport1, a decision on the midfielder’s future beyond the end of the season has not yet been made. Talks between the BVB bosses and Dahoud over a new contract are set to take place soon.
The last 12 months have been very difficult for Dahoud, who has spent plenty of time on the sidelines due to shoulder problems. The 27 year old has been limited to just five appearances so far this season. He suffered a shoulder injury in August and had to undergo surgery, which forced him to miss the majority of the first half of the season.
Dahoud made his return to training last month but has made just one appearance off the bench since the winter break.
Borussia Dortmund head coach Edin Terzic said during his press conference on Friday that the German international is making good progress as he continues to work his way back to full match rhythm.
Mahmoud Dahoud, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Borussia Mönchengladbach in 2017, last signed a contract extension with the club in 2021. He has attracted the interest of a number of English Premier League clubs in the past. But it was reported last month that his preference would be to stay with the Black and Yellows.
