Report: Ivan Fresneda sees the Bundesliga as a good next step for his career
By Tushar Bahl
Reported Borussia Dortmund target Ivan Fresneda is said to be interested in making the switch to the Bundesliga this summer.
Ivan Fresneda is considered to be one of the most talented young right-backs in Europe, and a number of big clubs are interested in signing him. Borussia Dortmund and Arsenal were both heavily linked with a move for the 18 year old last month, but he ultimately decided to stay at Real Valladolid until the end of the season.
Fresneda is now likely to leave the Spanish club in the summer, and a number of clubs from the Bundesliga and the English Premier League are in the race for his signature.
According to Kicker, Borussia Dortmund, Bayer Leverkusen, Eintracht Frankfurt and VfL Wolfsburg are all interested in signing the Spain U-19s international. Manchester United and FC Barcelona have also been linked with a move for him in recent weeks.
The magazine adds that Fresneda sees the Bundesliga as a good next step for furthering his development, and a summer transfer to Germany is certainly not unlikely. Real Valladolid will demand a transfer fee in the region of 15 million euros for the right-back’s sale in the summer.
Ivan Fresneda is enjoying an impressive breakthrough season with Real Valladolid and has made a total of 12 appearances so far this season for the Spanish side. He has more than two years left on his current contract.
Borussia Dortmund are expected to renew their interest in signing Fresneda in the summer. But it appears that the competition for his signature will be very fierce.
