Borussia Dortmund’s revenue compared to the Top 10 Clubs in Europe

When it comes to keeping star players, revenue is obviously one of the most important indicators to determining Borussia Dortmund’s competitiveness. The club has the 13th highest revenue, which interestingly enough almost exactly mirrors its standing in the UEFA club coefficients (12th).

However, if you compare the income of Borussia Dortmund ($388.9m) with the clubs reportedly interested in signing Jude Bellingham: Real Madrid ($777.0m), Liverpool FC ($764.8m) and Manchester City ($797.0m) you will notice that the gap on the pitch is smaller than the gap off the pitch.

On a positive note, the revenue at Borussia Dortmund has been fairly stable in recent years despite the pandemic at $367.6m, $365.7m and $377.1m in the three fiscal years prior to 2021/22.

Important: All these numbers are excluding transfer profits.
