Edin Terzic confident Borussia Dortmund can cope with Karim Adeyemi’s absence

Edin Terzic is confident that Borussia Dortmund have enough quality in their squad to cope with the absence of the injured Karim Adeyemi.
Borussia Dortmund received a big blow earlier this week as it was revealed that Karim Adeyemi will be sidelined for the next three weeks after picking up a muscle injury during last weekend’s win over Hertha Berlin.
Adeyemi has been in excellent form in recent weeks, and has scored in each of his last four appearances for the Black and Yellows. But he is now set to miss a number of crunch games, including the second leg of BVB’s UEFA Champions League round of 16 tie against Chelsea.
Edin Terzic faces a difficult decision as he looks to deal with the absence of the Germany international. But the BVB head coach is confident that they can cope with the in-form forward’s injury. During his pre-match press conference on Thursday, Terzic said:
"“It’s not nice to be without someone who is in very good form and has scored important goals. But we won in the league and the cup without Karim. We have plenty of ideas and options to be able to compensate for the loss. Donyell Malen came into the team and did well last week, and Jamie Bynoe-Gittens has also done really well.”"
The competition for places is very high at Borussia Dortmund at the moment, and Edin Terzic has a number of options to choose from.
Donyell Malen, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens and Gio Reyna are all capable of playing on the left wing. Malen scored his first Bundesliga goal of the season last weekend, while Bynoe-Gittens and Reyna have both made a big impact off the bench since the turn of the year.
And it will be interesting to see who gets the nod to start as Borussia Dortmund go up against TSG Hoffenheim in the Bundesliga this weekend.
