Borussia Dortmund are said to be on the verge of completing the signing of Daichi Kamada, with reports claiming that an agreement has already been reached.

Borussia Dortmund are reportedly set to bolster their midfield ranks with the signing of Daichi Kamada on a free transfer. According to Fabrizio Romano, the Eintracht Frankfurt midfielder has reached a verbal agreement with the Black and Yellows over a five year contract and the deal could be made official soon.

Frankfurter Rundschau claim that Kamada will earn an annual salary in the region of 5.5 million euros at BVB. The 26 year old is expected to replace Mahmoud Dahoud, who will leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer when his contract expires at the end of the season.

Borussia Dortmund’s interest in signing Daichi Kamada has been known for several months now. With his contract expiring at the end of the season, a number of other clubs have shown an interest in signing the Japanese international, including FC Barcelona and Tottenham Hotspur. But it looks like BVB will now win the race for his signature.

Sebastian Kehl held talks with Kamada’s agents on Wednesday. And with an agreement now in sight, the midfielder could become Borussia Dortmund’s first signing of the summer transfer window.
