Bayern Munich returned to the top of the Bundesliga standings after cruising to a 3-0 win over fellow title contenders Union Berlin on Sunday.

Bayern Munich showed once again why they are the favourites to win the Bundesliga title this season by earning a dominant 3-0 win over third placed Union Berlin. Three first half goals helped the Bavarians return to the top of the Bundesliga standings on goal difference, after Borussia Dortmund had taken the lead on Saturday.

Julian Nagelsmann’s side issued a brilliant response to last weekend’s defeat to Borussia Mönchengladbach. Bayern took the lead in the 31st minute, with Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting sending Kingsley Coman’s cross into the back of the net with a looping header from close range.

Coman then turned from provider to scorer ten minutes later, as he rounded past the Union Berlin goalkeeper before turning the ball home for Bayern’s second goal. Jamal Musiala added a third on the stroke of half time to put an end to Union Berlin’s unbeaten run.

The defeat leaves Union Berlin in third place, three points behind both Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund. RB Leipzig are fourth, four points shy of the top two.
