Report: Borussia Dortmund keeping tabs on Mainz midfielder Anton Stach

Borussia Dortmund are said to be interested in signing Anton Stach, with the midfielder likely to Mainz 05 this summer.

Midfield is an area Borussia Dortmund will likely look to bolster in the summer transfer window. And they are now being linked with a move for Anton Stach, who has been putting in eye-catching performances in the middle of the park for Mainz 05 this season. According to Sky Sport, a number of clubs from Germany, England and Italy are interested in signing the 24 year old.

In addition to Borussia Dortmund, Borussia Mönchengladbach and Bayer Leverkusen are also said to have Stach on their list of targets. Sky Sport add that the midfielder is likely to leave Mainz 05 this summer as he wants to take the next step in his development.

Interested clubs will likely have to pay a fee in the region of 10-15 million euros for Stach, who has less than 18 months left on his current contract with the 05ers.

Anton Stach has played a crucial role in Mainz 05’s resurgence this season. The Germany international is primarily a defensive midfielder, but is also capable of playing in the number eight role.

Borussia Dortmund could overhaul their midfield in the summer, with Mahmoud Dahoud set to leave the club and Jude Bellingham attracting the interest of a number of big clubs.
