Anthony Modeste could move to Saudi Arabia when his contract with Borussia Dortmund expires at the end of the season.

Anthony Modeste only joined Borussia Dortmund last summer. But it is highly likely that he will leave the club at the end of the season. According to SportBILD, the striker wants to play for at least one more season. And together with his agents, he is currently pushing for a move to Saudi Arabia.

Borussia Dortmund signed Modeste from FC Köln on a one year contract in August after Sebastien Haller’s cancer diagnosis. SportBILD claim that head coach Edin Terzic made the request to sign the 34 year old.

Unfortunately, Modeste has not been able to make the desired impact since his move to Dortmund. He has scored just two goals in 25 appearances across all competitions for Borussia Dortmund so far this season. One of those goals was a last-minute equaliser in the Bundesliga clash against Bayern Munich. But overall, his performances have left fans frustrated more often than not.

Modeste now finds himself behind Sebastien Haller and Youssoufa Moukoko in the pecking order for strikers at Borussia Dortmund. And his time at the club will almost certainly come to an end in the summer.

SportBILD also claim that Borussia Dortmund could have considered a move for Cristiano Ronaldo more closely had they not signed Anthony Modeste a few days before the former Manchester United forward was offered to the club. Ronaldo ended up joining Saudi Arabian side Al-Nassr in January.
