Hansi Flick allays Nico Schlotterbeck injury fears

Hansi Flick has given Nico Schlotterbeck the all-clear after the Borussia Dortmund defender was forced to come off during Germany’s friendly match against Peru on Saturday.
Nico Schlotterbeck helped Germany claim a 2-0 win over Peru in their first game of 2023 on Saturday evening. But the Borussia Dortmund defender was forced to leave the pitch in the 86th minute after picking up what appeared to be a thigh issue.
"Hansi Flick revealed after the game that Schlotterbeck has already been given the all-clear by the Germany national team doctors. The Germany head coach told ZDF after the game, “I was just with him and he said that everything is fine. He had a little cramp, but now everything is okay.”"
Borussia Dortmund will certainly be hoping that Schlotterbeck’s substitution was nothing more than a precautionary measure. The 23 year old has been ever-present in the BVB defence, and has made more appearances for the team than any other player this season.
The Black and Yellows have what will undoubtedly be their most important game of the season so far coming up right after the international break, as they travel to Bavaria to take on Bayern Munich in the Bundesliga. They will then face RB Leipzig in the quarterfinals of the DFB-Pokal, before hosting third placed Union Berlin in the Bundesliga.
Germany still have one more game left to play before the international break is over. Hansi Flick’s side will go up against Belgium on Tuesday in a friendly match. But it has now been revealed that Nico Schlotterbeck will miss the game due to a thigh problem.
