Predicted Borussia Dortmund lineup for VfL Bochum clash

Defenders – Julian Ryerson, Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels, Raphael Guerreiro

With Nico Schlotterbeck picking up an injury, the centre-back pairing will likely be Mats Hummels and Niklas Süle. Both players’ individual defensive performances and offensive contributions have been excellent. The pair managed to keep a clean sheet against Eintracht Frankfurt last weekend, and they will be aiming to do the same on Friday evening.

Julian Ryerson has been a solid signing and has established himself as a regular starter. Although he is capable of playing as a left-back, he seems to prefer being a right-back, which is where Terzic is likely to start him. Marius Wolf is also an option for the position, however, Ryerson has been favoured to start in recent games.

With that, Borussia Dortmund’s only option for the left-back position is Raphael Guerreiro. Although he had a run of matches playing in the midfield, he has since returned to his familiar defensive role. The Portuguese international is the leading assist maker in the Bundesliga this season, and will be crucial to BVB’s attacking plans down the left wing.
