Eintracht Frankfurt are looking to sign Ansgar Knauff on a permanent transfer and have already submitted their opening offer, according to reports.

Ansgar Knauff looks set to leave Borussia Dortmund on a permanent transfer at the end of the season, and Eintracht Frankfurt are interested in signing him. According to Sky Sport, the Eagles have already submitted their opening bid for the Germany U-21s international.

The report adds that the Black and Yellows are holding out for a fee in the region of 7 million euros. While Eintracht Frankfurt are hoping to reach an agreement for a transfer fee of around 5.5 million euros. It is hoped that an agreement will be reached between the two clubs in the coming weeks, with Knauff keen on moving to Frankfurt permanently.

Knauff joined Eintracht Frankfurt from Borussia Dortmund on an 18-month loan deal in January 2022 and played a crucial role in their UEFA Europa League triumph last season.

The 21 year old has found himself in and out of the team at times this season, and has made a total of 31 appearances across all competitions so far. He has scored four goals and assisted a further five for Oliver Glasner’s side since joining them on loan.

Ansgar Knauff has just over 12 months left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund, but it appears that his long-term future will lie away from the club. A number of other clubs have also shown interest in signing Knauff in recent months, but Eintracht Frankfurt appear to be the front-runners in the race for his signature.
