Edin Terzic has praised the attitude of Gio Reyna despite his lack of appearances for Borussia Dortmund this season.

It has been a difficult season so far for Gio Reyna, who has found it difficult to break into the Borussia Dortmund starting XI. Injuries halted the USMNT international’s progress in the first half of the season, and he has largely been used off the bench since the turn of the year.

Despite his limited playing time, Reyna still has seven goals to his name in the Bundesliga this season. He averages a goal every 83 minutes in the Bundesliga, which is not bad considering he has made just four starts this season. The 20 year old was on target again on Saturday as Borussia Dortmund romped to a 5-2 win over Eintracht Frankfurt.

Edin Terzic commented on Gio Reyna’s lack of playing time after the game, and was full of praise of the attitude and hard work he has shown in training despite not featuring as much as he would have liked.

"“Gio is not making it easy for me just to bring him on (off the bench),” Terzic said (via Ruhr Nachrichten). “He challenges the other guys in training every day. That’s the performance mindset we want to see.”"

Reyna remains behind the likes of Karim Adeyemi and Donyell Malen in the pecking order for forwards. And with the likes of Marco Reus, Julian Brandt, Jamie Bynoe-Gittens, and Julien Duranville also in BVB’s attacking ranks, playing time will likely be hard to come by for Reyna next season as well.
