Sebastien Haller is reportedly trying to convince his former Ajax teammate Edson Álvarez to make the switch to Borussia Dortmund in the summer.

Edson Álvarez is said to be Borussia Dortmund’s preferred target as they look to bolster their defensive midfield ranks in the summer transfer window. And the Black and Yellows are reportedly in the pole position for his signature.

This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that BVB striker Sebastien Haller is also trying to convince Álvarez behind the scenes to move to Germany in the summer. Haller and Álvarez were teammates at Ajax, and also became good friends off the pitch.

The report adds that Álvarez is excited about Borussia Dortmund’s development, and can imagine a move to the club as a result. But no agreement has yet been reached between the two parties.

Manchester United are also said to be interested in signing Álvarez, who was heavily linked with a move to Chelsea during the January transfer window. The 25 year old has more than two years left on his current contract with Ajax, and the Dutch giants will reportedly demand a fee in the region of 50 million euros for his sale.
