Jude Bellingham wins Bundesliga player of the season award
Jude Bellingham has won the Bundesliga player of the season award on the back of his exemplary campaign in midfield for Borussia Dortmund.
After leading the way and setting the tone for Borussia Dortmund for much of the 2022/23 season, Jude Bellingham has been voted the Bundesliga player of the season. The award is a well deserved honour for the midfielder, who played a crucial role in BVB’s title bid this season.
Bellingham made 31 appearances in the Bundesliga over the course of the recently concluded season, scoring eight goals and assisting a further five. The 19 year old showed his world class quality and maturity beyond his years time and time again, as he helped Borussia Dortmund go ever so close to winning the Bundesliga title.
Going into his third season with Borussia Dortmund, Jude Bellingham was named the club’s third captain. And he took on that responsibility really well both on and off the pitch. Bellingham won more duels than any other player in the Bundesliga this season (482), and also covered more distance than any of his teammates (322 km).
The England international also finished the season as Borussia Dortmund’s top goalscorer, having found the back of the net on 14 occasions in 42 appearances across all competitions.

Bellingham’s excellent performances for Borussia Dortmund this season have seen him attract the interest of some of the biggest clubs in Europe. And it is increasingly likely that he will leave the club in the summer transfer window, with Real Madrid being heavily linked with his signature.
