Raphael Guerreiro, who will leave Borussia Dortmund on a free transfer this summer, is said to be attracting the interest of Bayern Munich.

Borussia Dortmund announced on Sunday that Raphael Guerreiro will be leaving the club when his contract expires at the end of the season. The Portuguese international will be available on a free transfer, and Bayern Munich are reportedly interested in signing him.

This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that Guerreiro would like to stay in Germany and can imagine a move to Bayern. The two parties have already held positive talks.

But that was before Bayern made the decision to part ways with CEO Oliver Kahn and sporting director Hasan Salihamidžić. And it currently remains to be seen if their new bosses will be interested in signing him.

Thomas Tuchel, who was Borussia Dortmund head coach when Guerreiro joined the club from FC Lorient in 2016, is now in charge at Bayern Munich. And the 49 year old is reportedly keen on a reunion with the left-back this summer.

Atletico Madrid and clubs in the English Premier League are also said to be interested in signing Guerreiro, who rejected Borussia Dortmund’s offer to extend his expiring contract in search of a new challenge.

Raphael Guerreiro made a total of 224 appearances for Borussia Dortmund over a seven year spell, scoring 40 goals and assisting a further 50. He finished the 2022/23 season as the leading assist maker in the Bundesliga.
