Borussia Dortmund have announced that five players will be leaving the club when their contracts expire in the summer.

The 2022/23 season came to a bitter end on Saturday for Borussia Dortmund as they lost the Bundesliga title to Bayern Munich on goal difference. The Black and Yellows had a team meeting on Sunday morning, during which they bid farewell to five players.

Borussia Dortmund have announced that Raphael Guerreiro, Mahmoud Dahoud, Felix Passlack, Anthony Modeste, and Luca Unbehaun will all be leaving the club on free transfers when their contracts with the club expire in the summer.

The departures of Mahmoud Dahoud and Felix Passlack had already been confirmed, with the duo set to join Brighton & Hove Albion and VfL Bochum respectively.

It was also revealed earlier on Sunday that Raphael Guerreiro has rejected the club’s offer of a new contract. The Portuguese international is said to be attracting the interest of clubs in England and Spain.

It remains to be seen what the future holds for Anthony Modeste, who only joined Borussia Dortmund last summer as a last-minute replacement for Sebastien Haller following his cancer diagnosis. Modeste never really got going at BVB, although he did score a last-gasp equaliser against Bayern Munich.

As for Luca Unbehaun, the young goalkeeper is said to be attracting the interest of a number of clubs in the 2. Bundesliga.
