By Tushar Bahl
Raphael Guerreiro could be about to make the shock move to Bayern Munich, with the club pushing on with their plans to sign the left-back on a free transfer.
In speculation that will certainly infuriate Borussia Dortmund fans, Raphael Guerreiro is being heavily linked with a move to Bayern Munich. The Portuguese international is available on a free transfer after rejecting BVB’s offer to extend his expiring contract in search for a new challenge. Now it appears that he could reunite with Thomas Tuchel in Bavaria.
According to Sky Sport, the Bayern Munich bosses have agreed to proceed with their plans to sign Guerreiro on a free transfer. And the 29 year old can also imagine a move to the defending Bundesliga champions, as he wants to stay in Germany. But an agreement has not yet been reached between the two parties.
Atletico Madrid and OGC Nice are also said to be in the race to sign Guerreiro, who will be leaving Borussia Dortmund this summer after spending the last seven years with the club.
Sebastian Kehl said recently that the Black and Yellows wanted to keep Guerreiro at the club and offered him a new two year contract. But they could not reach an agreement on the length of the contract.
Raphael Guerreiro made a total of 224 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 40 goals and assisting a further 50. Borussia Dortmund already have a replacement in place for Guerreiro, having reached an agreement to sign Ramy Bensebaini on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach.
