It appears that Borussia Dortmund will not be signing Enzo Le Fée, with the midfielder deciding to stay in France and join Stade Rennais.
Borussia Dortmund would like to bolster their midfield ranks this summer and it was reported that Enzo Le Fée is one of the names on their list of targets. Reports in France now claim that the highly rated FC Lorient midfielder has agreed to join Stade Rennais, and the two clubs will hold talks in a bid to reach an agreement for his transfer.
According to BILD, Borussia Dortmund’s interest in signing Le Fée has somewhat cooled in recent weeks. The tabloid adds that the Black and Yellows are instead putting their efforts into signing Edson Álvarez from Ajax. The Mexico international is more of a defensive midfielder, and the hope at BVB will be that he can add some much needed stability to the middle of the park if he joins the club this summer.
With Enzo Le Fée opting to join Stade Rennais, it remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund will look to sign a more like-for-like for Jude Bellingham if he decides to join Real Madrid this summer.
Mahmoud Dahoud and Raphael Guerreiro are both also set to leave the Black and Yellows when their contracts expire at the end of the month. So the likelihood is that Sebastian Kehl and co. will look to make more than one signing in midfield this summer.
Conor Gallagher, Ellyes Skhiri and Anton Stach are the other midfielders who have been linked with moves to Borussia Dortmund in recent months.
