Borussia Dortmund left annoyed by Hansi Flick’s decision to drop Niklas Süle

Hansi Flick’s decision to leave out Niklas Süle from the Germany squad for their upcoming friendly matches was reportedly met with frustration and a lack of understanding from Borussia Dortmund.
Germany head coach Hansi Flick made waves earlier this week with his criticism of Niklas Süle. The Borussia Dortmund defender was left out of the Germany squad for this month’s international break. And Flick harshly criticised Süle, saying in an interview with FAZ that he needs to take a step forward in his attitude and mentality.
According to BILD, Flick called Süle to inform him that he will not be part of the Germany squad for their friendly matches against Ukraine, Poland and Colombia. The 27 year old reportedly reacted angrily and was left disappointed after being told of the decision.
Hansi Flick then apparently called Edin Terzic to explain to him what Niklas Süle needs to do to return to the Germany fold in the lead-up to next year’s European Championship.
The tabloid also claims that Flick’s decision did not go down well at Borussia Dortmund. Those in charge at BVB are said to be finding it difficult to understand why Süle was left out of the Germany squad, and there is a sense of frustration at the club about the decision.
Niklas Süle was ever-present for Borussia Dortmund in the recently concluded season, having joined the club on a free transfer from Bayern Munich last summer. He will now look to show his quality on the pitch and force his way back into Hansi Flick’s plans next season.
