Report: Borussia Dortmund and Manchester United in race to sign Felix Nmecha
Manchester United have joined Borussia Dortmund in the race to sign wantaway Wolfsburg midfielder Felix Nmecha.
It was reported last week that Borussia Dortmund are considering signing VfL Wolfsburg midfielder Felix Nmecha this summer, as they look to replace the Real Madrid-bound Jude Bellingham. But they could face competition for the 22 year old’s signature, with Sport1 claiming that Manchester United are interested in him.
The report adds that the English Premier League side have already held talks with Nmecha’s father, who serves as his agent. The Germany international wants to leave Wolfsburg this summer, and would be keen to make a move to England. Interested clubs will have to pay a fee in the region of 15 million euros for his signature.
Nmecha, who began his career at Manchester City before making the switch to Wolfsburg in 2021, registered three goals and six assists in 30 Bundesliga appearances for Niko Kovac’s side. Now he is looking to take the next step in his career.
It remains to be seen if Borussia Dortmund will actually look to make a move for Felix Nmecha this summer. But it is clear that they will look to bolster their midfield ranks following the departures of Jude Bellingham, Mahmoud Dahoud and Raphael Guerreiro.
The Black and Yellows are set to make an official bid for Ajax midfielder Edson Álvarez this week, with the defensive midfielder one of their top targets for the summer transfer window. A fee in the region of 35 million euros is expected for the Mexico international.
