Transfer fee the major sticking point in Borussia Dortmund’s bid to sign Iván Fresneda

Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Iván Fresneda this summer, but the transfer fee for the right-back remains a major sticking point.
It is no secret that Borussia Dortmund are interested in signing Iván Fresneda from Real Valladolid. The Black and Yellows reportedly came close to securing a move for the highly rated right-back in January. And they are now said to be leading the race to sign him this summer.
Fresneda is free to leave Real Valladolid for a fee of 20 million euros this summer, following their relegation from La Liga. According to Kicker, it remains to be seen if Sebastian Kehl would be willing to pay this fee for the 18 year old and the transfer cost could prove to be a stumbling block.
The magazine adds that since Borussia Dortmund are currently well-stocked at right-back, they may also need to first make sales before they can sign Iván Fresneda.
Marius Wolf, Julian Ryerson, Thomas Meunier, and Mateu Morey are among the right-back options in Edin Terzic’s squad. Meunier is free to leave the club, and the future of Morey is also uncertain at the moment.
Borussia Dortmund are rumoured to have a transfer budget in the region of around 75 million euros for this summer. And with bolstering the midfield taking priority, the signature of Fresneda may well depend on whether the BVB bosses are able to sell some unwanted players.
Arsenal and Juventus are also said to be interested in signing Iván Fresneda, who is coming off an impressive breakthrough campaign in La Liga.
