Borussia Dortmund could look to pursue a move for Conor Gallagher this summer, with the Chelsea midfielder reportedly on their list of midfield targets.
The need for midfield reinforcements is high at Borussia Dortmund following the departures of Jude Bellingham, Mahmoud Dahoud, and Raphael Guerreiro. The Black and Yellows have been linked with a number of midfielders in recent weeks. And the latest player to be linked with a move to the club is Conor Gallagher.
According to SportBILD, the Chelsea midfielder is on Borussia Dortmund’s list of targets for this summer, along with Edson Álvarez and Felix Nmecha.
But the magazine adds that BVB would have to pay a club record transfer fee to sign Gallagher, with the asking price for him expected to be more than that for Álvarez. And it remains to be seen if the BVB bosses would be willing to spend that much money for his signature.
Gallagher, who has also been linked with a move to Brighton & Hove Albion, spoke about his desire to stay at Chelsea earlier this week. But the English Premier League side may still try and sell the 23 year old this summer, as they look to bring in midfield reinforcements of their own.
Conor Gallagher came through the youth team ranks at Chelsea and made his English Premier League breakthrough at Crystal Palace. The England international has two years left on his current contract with the club. He is capable of playing in a variety of different roles in midfield, which could make him an exciting potential option for Edin Terzic’s side.
