Borussia Dortmund and Ajax are reportedly hoping to take decisive strides and hash out an agreement over the transfer of Edson Álvarez in the coming week.

Edson Álvarez remains Borussia Dortmund’s top target as they look to bolster their midfield ranks this summer. The Mexico international is keen on a move to BVB, but those in charge are facing tough negotiations with Ajax as they look to secure his signature.

According to WAZ, Borussia Dortmund do not want to pay much more than 30 million euros for Álvarez. While Ajax are seeking a transfer fee in the region of 40 million euros. The newspaper further claims that all sides involved would like to take a significant step forward in the negotiations in the coming week.

Álvarez, who has two years left on his Ajax contract, revealed recently that he is likely to leave the Dutch giants this summer. Reports have claimed that the 25 year old has already reached an agreement in principle on personal terms with the Black and Yellows.

Sebastian Kehl will have to negotiate with Sven Mislintat to find an agreement on the transfer fee, and the hope will be that an agreement can be reached soon.
