Borussia Dortmund scouts are said to be keeping tabs on highly rated Real Madrid midfielder Sergio Arribas.
Borussia Dortmund would like to add a talented young player with high potential to their squad this summer. And according to Ruhr Nachrichten, Real Madrid’s Sergio Arribas is on the Black and Yellows’ radar.
The newspaper claims that the BVB scouts have been following the progress of the 21 year old in the LaLiga2 promotion playoffs, and he could become a potential option for the club this summer.
Arribas primarily featured for Real Madrid Castilla last season, and had a campaign to remember as they came close to clinching promotion to the second division of Spanish football. The 21 year old scored 20 goals and assisted a further seven in 36 appearances for Real Madrid’s second team.
Despite his high potential, Arribas finds himself on the periphery of Real Madrid’s first-team at the moment. The attacking midfielder has made just four first-team appearances for Real Madrid in the recently concluded campaign, and it remains to be seen if he is part of their plans for next season.
The report adds that RB Leipzig, Eintracht Frankfurt and teams from the Netherlands are also interested in signing Sergio Arribas this summer. And Real Madrid may look to send him out on loan, much like they did with Achraf Hakimi, who made a big impact at Borussia Dortmund.
Sergio Arribas is primarily an attacking midfielder, but is also capable of playing out wide and in central midfield. He has two years left on his current contract with Real Madrid.
