Borussia Dortmund to begin Bundesliga season against FC Köln on August 19

Borussia Dortmund will kick-start their 2023/24 Bundesliga campaign against FC Köln on August 19 after the DFL finalised the exact schedules for matchday 1-8.

We are just over a month away from the start of the 2023/24 Bundesliga season, and Borussia Dortmund will begin their campaign with a home game against FC Köln. The DFL has now released the exact fixtures and kick-off times for matchdays 1-8 of the new Bundesliga season.

And the Black and Yellows’ matchday 1 clash against FC Köln will take place on August 19, 2023 at 6:30 pm CEST. Defending Bundesliga champions Bayern Munich will kick-off the 2023/24 Bundesliga season away to Werder Bremen on Friday, August 18 at 8:30 pm CEST.

Borussia Dortmund’s first away game of the new Bundesliga season will be against VfL Bochum on matchday two. The Ruhr Derby will kick-off at 3:30 pm CEST on August 26.

Edin Terzic’s side will then face newly promoted side 1. FC Heidenheim at home on matchday three, with the game taking place on Friday, September 1 (kick-off at 8:30 pm CEST).

Matchday three will be followed by the international break, after which Borussia Dortmund will face SC Freiburg, who narrowly missed out on UEFA Champions League qualification last season. The game will kick-off at 3:30 pm CEST on Saturday, September 16.

Borussia Dortmund will then begin their UEFA Champions League group stage campaign on September 19/20, before taking on VfL Wolfsburg at the Westfalenstadion on September 23 (kick-off at 3:30 pm ET).

Borussia Dortmund will be away to TSG Hoffenheim in the following week, with the game taking place on Friday, September 29 (kick-off at 8:30 pm CEST). That will be followed by matchday two of the UEFA Champions League group stage. And BVB will then take on Union Berlin on Saturday, October 7 (kick-off at 3:30 pm CEST) in their final game before the month’s international break.
