Karim Adeyemi a doubt for Borussia Dortmund’s US Tour due to hamstring injury
Karim Adeyemi could be forced to miss Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming US Tour as he continues to deal with his hamstring injury.
Karim Adeyemi suffered a hamstring injury during Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga clash against Mainz 05 on the final day of last season, and it is still unclear how long he will be sidelined for. Ruhr Nachrichten now claim that the Germany international is set to miss BVB’s first three friendly matches of pre-season. And he is also a doubt for the Black and Yellows’ tour to the United States.
A decision on Adeyemi’s availability for Borussia Dortmund’s US Tour will not be made until next week. And if the 21 year old is forced to miss the flight to San Diego, there might even be concerns over his availability for the start of the new season.
Adeyemi had already spent more than a month on the sidelines after suffering a muscle fibre tear in his thigh in February. So the hope will be that his current injury will not keep him sidelined for too much longer.
Borussia Dortmund are due to face San Diego Loyal, Manchester United and Chelsea as part of their US Tour. They will then return to Germany and take on Ajax in their final pre-season fixture. Edin Terzic’s side will then go up against TSV Schott Mainz in the DFB-Pokal in their first competitive game of the 2023/24 season.
Karim Adeyemi was one of Borussia Dortmund’s top performers in the second half of last season. The forward joined BVB from RB Salzburg last year, and scored nine goals and assisted a further six in his debut campaign.
