Borussia Dortmund’s upcoming pre-season tour to the United States will reportedly see them pocket around five million euros.
Borussia Dortmund will head to the United States next week to ramp up their preparations for the start of the 2023/24 season. The pre-season tour will mark a return to the US for the Black and Yellows, four years on from their last trip to the country.
According to BILD, Borussia Dortmund will earn a windfall of around five million euros from their trip to the United States. Edin Terzic’s side are due to play three friendly matches, and the players will also take part in some promotional activities over the course of the 11-day trip.
Borussia Dortmund will first head to California, where they will go up against USL Championship side San Diego Loyal on July 28. They will then head to Las Vegas for a blockbuster pre-season friendly against Manchester United on July 30. Chicago will serve as BVB’s final pit-stop of pre-season, and they will face Chelsea at the Soldier Field on August 2.
The entire Borussia Dortmund first-team squad is expected to head to the United States for the pre-season tour, including the likes of Sebastien Haller, Gio Reyna, Marco Reus, and Niklas Süle.
The BVB players also enjoyed a successful tour of Asia during the FIFA World Cup break in November, and played friendly matches in Singapore, Malaysia and Vietnam. And the aim of the upcoming US tour will be to further boost the worldwide appeal of the club and the Bundesliga as a whole.
