Edin Terzic was full of praise of Felix Nmecha after he came off the bench and scored a brace for Borussia Dortmund against Ajax on Sunday.

Felix Nmecha announced himself at the Westfalenstadion in style on Sunday, as he scored a match-winning brace for Borussia Dortmund in their pre-season friendly match against Ajax. The summer signing made an instant impact after coming off the bench and showed some glimpses of what fans can expect from him this season.

Edin Terzic hailed Nmecha’s impact after the game. The Borussia Dortmund head coach said that the midfielder’s towering presence and ability to cover ground quickly means that the pitch sometimes looks too small for him.

"“In 45 minutes, he had five or six shots on goal. He showed what we already saw in him before we signed him. The pitch sometimes looks too small for him. With his long strides, he can get to almost anywhere on the pitch. We believe he has the potential to be an important player for us in goal-scoring areas.”"

Borussia Dortmund completed the signing of Felix Nmecha from VfL Wolfsburg for a fee in the region of 30 million euros last month. The 22 year old was signed as the club’s long-term replacement for Jude Bellingham, with those in charge believing that he has the potential to become a world-class midfielder.

Nmecha had to spend a large part of pre-season on the sidelines due to nagging muscular issues. But he is now close to returning to full fitness, and his goals against Ajax will no doubt give Edin Terzic a selection headache ahead of Borussia Dortmund’s Bundesliga matchday one clash against FC Köln in two weeks’ time.
