Report: Jude Bellingham’s attitude frustrated Borussia Dortmund teammates
By Tushar Bahl
Jude Bellingham’s attitude made him a controversial figure in the Borussia Dortmund dressing room, the latest edition of SportBILD claims.
Jude Bellingham enjoyed a meteoric rise at Borussia Dortmund and nearly helped the club win the Bundesliga title last season before joining Real Madrid for a fee worth more than 100 million euros in the summer. Despite his world-class performances on the pitch, it is being claimed that the England international wasn’t always popular in the BVB dressing room.
According to SportBILD, those in the Borussia Dortmund dressing room were of the opinion that Bellingham often wanted to be the centre of attention. The magazine adds that the 19 year old’s teammates felt that he was too harsh towards them at times, especially during training sessions and at half-time of matches.
The report further claims that Bellingham rarely showed any leadership qualities despite being appointed Borussia Dortmund’s third captain before the start of last season. It is also being claimed that he did not live up to the role, and was extremely moody at times.
It remains to be seen just how much truth there is to this report. Jude Bellingham’s Borussia Dortmund teammates always spoke in a complimentary manner when asked about him. And the midfielder led from the front time and time again on the pitch for the Black and Yellows.
Bellingham made a total of 132 appearances for Borussia Dortmund, scoring 24 goals and assisting a further 25. He made his Real Madrid debut this past weekend, and found the back of the net as they claimed a 2-0 win over Athletic Bilbao.
