Antonios Papadopoulos could look to leave Borussia Dortmund this month, with clubs in England, Germany, the Netherlands and Greece showing an interest in his signature.

Borussia Dortmund are looking to sign a new centre-back before the transfer window closes, and have been linked with a move for Southampton defender Armel Bella-Kotchap in recent weeks. If the Black and Yellows do manage to bring in a new centre-back this month, Antonios Papadopoulos could look to leave the club.

This is being reported by Sky Sport, who add that clubs in Germany, England and the Netherlands are interested in signing him. The report adds that top Greek clubs Panathinaikos and Olympiakos have also shown an interest in the 23 year old, who joined Borussia Dortmund from Hallescher FC in 2021.

Papadopoulos was initially signed by BVB to play for the U-23s team in the 3. Liga. But he was given his opportunity in the first-team due to an injury crisis in defence. He has made a total of six appearances so far for the Borussia Dortmund first-team, and only one of those appearances has been from the start. He has made a total of 53 appearances so far for BVB II.

It will be interesting to see what the future holds for Antonios Papadopoulos, who has less than 12 months left on his current contract with Borussia Dortmund. He is behind Niklas Süle, Mats Hummels and Nico Schlotterbeck in the pecking order for centre-backs at the moment, and is unlikely to get much playing time in the BVB first-team this season.
