Borussia Dortmund will look to return to winning ways on Friday as they take on newly promoted side Heidenheim in the Bundesliga.

After a difficult start to their Bundesliga campaign, Borussia Dortmund will look to issue a statement of their title credentials against Heidenheim on Friday. The Black and Yellows will be the overwhelming favourites against the newly promoted side, who have started their season with back to back defeats.

Borussia Dortmund were lucky to come away with a draw against VfL Bochum last weekend, and anything other than a comfortable win on Friday would heap more pressure on Edin Terzic’s side. There are a few injury question marks ahead of the game, with Julian Ryerson and Felix Nmecha both injury doubts.

Mats Hummels should be able to feature against Heidenheim despite being forced to come off last weekend due to a back injury. Karim Adeyemi could make his return to the starting XI on Friday. While Julian Brandt will look to build on his encouraging start to the season.

Gio Reyna is closing in on his return to full fitness, while Julien Duranville and Thomas Meunier are sidelined with their respective injuries.

Heidenheim let a two goal-lead slip against Hoffenheim last weekend, but showed that they have what it takes to compete in the Bundesliga.

Former Borussia Dortmund youth team player Jan-Niklas Beste is one player who could make a big impact on Friday. United States midfielder Lennard Maloney will also look to impress against his former club. Marnon-Thomas Busch and Elidon Qenaj are sidelined with injuries.
