Borussia Dortmund to face Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan, Newcastle United in the UEFA Champions League group stage

Borussia Dortmund will go up against Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Newcastle United in the group stage of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League.

The draw for the group stage of the 2023/24 UEFA Champions League group stage has been made, and Borussia Dortmund will have to overcome the challenge of Paris Saint-Germain, AC Milan and Newcastle United in order to make it to the round of 16. The Black and Yellows were drawn in Group F, which certainly appears to be the group of death.

Borussia Dortmund last faced PSG in the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League in 2020, with the French side coming out on top 3-2 on aggregate. It has been all-change at PSG this summer, following the exits of Lionel Messi and Neymar.

Borussia Dortmund will face a reunion with Ousmane Dembele, who joined PSG from FC Barcelona earlier this summer. Former BVB right-back Achraf Hakimi is also in the PSG ranks.

AC Milan reached the semifinals of the UEFA Champions League last season and will also offer a tough test to Borussia Dortmund in the group stage this year. The two sides last met in 2003, with BVB coming out on top. Although the Italian giants won the Champions League that year.

The clash against AC Milan will also mark a reunion with Christian Pulisic, who joined the Italian giants after leaving Chelsea this summer. And of course, former Borussia Dortmund striker Alexander Isak has been leading the charge for Newcastle United who are back in the Champions League this season after a 20-year absence.

Borussia Dortmund reached the round of 16 of the UEFA Champions League last season, where they were eliminated by Chelsea. They will hope to fare better in the competition this season.

The UEFA Champions League group stage will get underway on September 19, 2023. Matchday two is scheduled for October 3-4, 2023. The group stage will conclude on December 13, 2023.
