Youssoufa Moukoko showcased his quality on Tuesday as he scored a quick-fire for the Germany U-21s during their 3-0 win over Kosovo in the UEFA European Under-21 Championship qualifiers. The highly rated Borussia Dortmund striker broke the deadlock in the 74th minute with an excellent curling strike. He then doubled his tally just four minutes later with a fine finish under pressure from two defenders.
The 18 year old showed just how clinical he can be in front of goal. And the goals will give him plenty of confidence as he looks to vie for a starting spot at Borussia Dortmund.
The Germany senior team also had an evening to remember, as goals from Thomas Müller and Leroy Sané gave them a 2-1 win over France.
Having parted ways with Hansi Flick recently, Germany produced a much improved performance and enjoyed a much-needed return to winning ways at the Westfalenstadion. Niklas Süle and Emre Can were both named in the starting XI by interim head coach Rudi Völler, while Julian Brandt came off the bench. Nico Schlotterbeck and Felix Nmecha were both unused substitutes.
Austria took a big step towards Euro 2024 qualification as they earned a 3-1 win over Sweden. Marcel Sabitzer played 90 minuted for Ralf Rangnick’s side and assisted the second goal.
Ramy Bensebaini played 90 minutes as Algeria earned a hard-fought 1-0 win over Senegal. Sebastien Haller was also due to be in action, but Ivory Coast’s friendly match against Mali was cancelled due to adverse weather conditions. Salih Özcan played from the start, but was unable to prevent Turkey from suffering a 4-2 defeat to Japan.
