Bayern Munich roared to the top of the Bundesliga standings with a ruthless 7-0 win over VfL Bochum. Harry Kane scored his first-ever Bundesliga hat-trick and also assisted two goals for the reigning champions. Eric Maxim Choupo-Moting, Matthijs de Ligt, Leroy Sané, and Mathys Tel were also on the scoresheet for Thomas Tuchel’s side.
Second-placed Bayer Leverkusen also enjoyed a comfortable win to go level on points with Bayern, with Victor Boniface scoring a brace against Heidenheim. Jonas Hofmann and Amine Adli also scored in the 4-1 win, while Eren Dinkçi continued his impressive run of form for the newly promoted side.
VfB Stuttgart maintained their excellent start to the season by dispatching Darmstadt 3-1. Enzo Millot pulled Stuttgart back on level terms after Dan-Axel Zagadou’s own-goal had given Darmstadt the lead. Serhou Guirassy then scored twice to take Stuttgart up to third place in the Bundesliga standings.
Marco Reus was the match-winner for Borussia Dortmund as they edged past Wolfsburg 1-0 to move up to sixth place. RB Leipzig also managed to claim the three points, with Timo Werner’s winner helping them earn a hard-fought 1-0 win over Borussia Mönchengladbach.
Hoffenheim made it four wins in four, as goals from Andrej Kramaric and Maximilian Beier helped them stun Union Berlin 2-0. Leonardo Bonucci gave away a penalty on his Bundesliga debut for the Berliners.
Werder Bremen came from behind to beat FC Köln 2-1 with Justin Njinmah scoring the winning goal. Rafael Santos Borré had earlier canceled out Davie Selke’s first-half opener.
Mainz 05 remain rooted to the bottom of the Bundesliga standings after falling to a 2-1 defeat away to 10-man Augsburg. The 05ers took the lead through Ludovic Ajorque early on, only for Ermin Demirovic to score a brace and secure three vital points for Enrico Maaßen’s side.
