Borussia Dortmund continued their worrying run of form in the Bundesliga, as they fell to a 2-1 defeat against an excellent Stuttgart side.

It was a narrow, yet thoroughly deserved defeat for Borussia Dortmund as they were completely overpowered by a dominant Stuttgart side. The Black and Yellows fell to a 2-1 defeat, thanks to goals from Deniz Undav and Serhou Guirassy.

Niclas Füllkrug had earlier given Borussia Dortmund a shock lead after Gregor Kobel prevented the home side from making the most of their bright start. But the BVB number one could only do so much on his own, and Stuttgart ultimately managed to find the back of the net twice.

Edin Terzic’s side looked passive, tired and out of their depth for much of the game. And after being beaten 4-0 by Bayern Munich last weekend, they will feel very lucky that the scoreline didn’t have a similar look to it against Stuttgart.

Here are our player ratings from Borussia Dortmund’s 2-1 defeat to Stuttgart.

Gregor Kobel (7/10)

Despite giving away two penalties, Gregor Kobel was Borussia Dortmund’s top performer against Stuttgart. He made a number of spectacular saves for his side and led from the front. Unfortunately, those in front of him on the pitch weren’t on the same level.
