Borussia Dortmund will reportedly look to bolster their squad by signing two full-backs during the January transfer window.

The alarm bells are starting to ring at Borussia Dortmund after Edin Terzic’s side suffered back-to-back defeats in the Bundesliga before the international break. Planning is underway for the January transfer window. And according to BILD, the Black and Yellows will look to prioritise bolstering their full-back ranks in the winter.

The tabloid claims that Borussia Dortmund are on the lookout for alternatives in the full-back positions. And depending on player sales, they could look to bring in a new right-back and a left-back.

Ramy Bensebaini has had a mixed start to his Borussia Dortmund career since joining the club on a free transfer from Borussia Mönchengladbach. Marius Wolf has also failed to make much of an impact. The lack of alternatives prompted Terzic to field Niklas Süle at right-back before the international break.

Youssoufa Moukoko and Thomas Meunier are two players who could potentially leave Borussia Dortmund in January. And their departures could free up funds for new signings. The report also speculates that BVB may look to bring in attacking reinforcements if Moukoko leaves the club in the winter transfer window.

Borussia Dortmund were also said to be eyeing a new full-back towards the end of the summer transfer window, but instead decided to bolster their attacking ranks with the signing of Niclas Füllkrug. BVB have been linked with a number of defenders in recent weeks, including Trevoh Chalobah and Valentin Barco.
