The injury to Felix Nmecha is a big blow for Borussia Dortmund, with games coming thick and fast. The summer signing was starting to show glimpses of his potential in BVB colours, but has now been ruled out until after the winter break.
Edin Terzic could be forced to field a more defensive-minded midfield following Nmecha’s injury. Although Emre Can appears to be fit again, he will likely come off the bench this weekend after spending so much time on the sidelines.
Salih Özcan impressed for Turkey during the international break and is set to start in the number six role against Gladbach.
Marcel Sabitzer, who was on the scoresheet for Austria against Germany, will hope to build on that and show his attacking qualities for Borussia Dortmund.
Julian Brandt will complete BVB’s midfield three. The playmaker has arguably been his side’s best outfield player this season.
