According to multiple reports, Borussia Dortmund are contemplating a move for Fenerbahçe’s full-back Ferdi Kadioglu.

Ahead of the upcoming winter transfer window, the need for a new full-back (or two) has been identified as one of the primary needs for Borussia Dortmund in order to get their season back on track.

Fenerbahçe’s Ferdi Kadioglu has reportedly been identified as a concrete target. Kadioglu has impressed this season having shown his propensity to be extremely solid defensively for the Turkish side, which has only allowed 9 goals in the Turkish league so far.

This tally is second only to Galatasaray’s 8. On a personal level, Kadioglu averages 2.2 tackles, 1.3 clearances and 0.8 fouls per game, with these number painting the picture of a very tidy and efficient full back.

Offensively, Kadioglu currently has two assists, and sits at an average of 1.8 key passes and 1.7 dribbles per 90 minutes. One of the player’s redeeming qualities is his versatility.

Kadioglu is able to play in both full-back positions, a trait that would make him indispensable to Edin Terzić’s side.

He also has a more offensive-minded approach to his play that could really benefit Borussia Dortmund as Ramy Bensebaini and Julian Ryerson aren’t the attack-minded full-backs.

With Ferdi Kadioglu’s current contract running out in 2026, it remains to be seen just how expensive a signing Kadioglu would prove of be. A report from BILD indicates that 30 million euros is the Turkish club’s asking price, and it seems as if Bayern Munich also have an eye on the player, so there are still many uncertainties surrounding any potential move at this time.
