Borussia Dortmund arrested their losing run against Bayern Munich with a 2-2 draw in their Bundesliga clash on Saturday. Fabio Silva salvaged a point for the BVB with a late equalizer at the Allianz Arena.
Here are three winners and two losers from Borussia Dortmund's 2-2 draw with Bayern Munich:
Winner #1 - Fabio Silva
From sturggling to make an impact in his debut season to now emerging as one of the key cornerstones in Dortmund's offensive vanguard, Fabio Silva has truly turned things around in style and added another feather to his cap with a late equalizer here after coming off the bench that earned the BVB a point. The Portuguese has five goals for the season already, two more than what he managed in the entirety of last term.
Loser #1 - Maximilian Beier
Maximilian Beier was given a chance to shine in a big game clash and the German ends up having a sticker, all the more reason why the jury is still out on him. He was largely on the fringes of the game, struggling to drive forward with the ball while also losing possession a few times. His only attempt in the match was also blocked. Beier was put out of his misery in the 67th minute for Konstantinos Karetsas, who later assisted Silva's equalizing goal.
Winner #2 - Gregor Kobel
Bayern Munich threw the kitchen sink at BVB's goal in the second half but Kobel stood firm. The Swiss international made three vital saves in the match, including an important save on Ismael Saibari in a one-on-one situation after 24 minutes. Kobel's timing and reaction were perfectly on point, reflecting why he's the best goalkeeper in the Bundesliga right now.
Loser #2 - Felix Nmecha
Besdies Beier, Felix Nmecha was another BVB starter who had a terrible game in Munich that night. It was his misplaced pass which directly led to Bayern's opener on the night and then conceded a penalty which although Harry Kane missed in a huge let off for him and Dortmund. But it does little to hide a nervy performance from a midfielder who's already facing calls of getting dropped from the XI from the fans.
Winner #3 - Konstantinos Karetas
There were doubts over the Greek's availability for the clash. He had been missing in action since twisting his ankle during their clash against Union Berlin the previous weekend, but made a timely return here after replacing Nmecha midway through the second-half and marked the occasion with an assist for Silva, demonstrating his ability to find spaces to make a pass.
