Borussia Dortmund are on a hiatus right now as its international week but many of their stars will be active over the next few days with their respective national teams.

Here are the five you need to keep an eye on:

5) Gregor Kobel (Switzerland)

Bundesliga's most solid goalkeeper, Gregor Kobel has unsurprisingly been called-up by his national side Switzerland, who need him between the sticks in tricky-looking games to Germany and Norway.

With 12 clean sheets in the league, Kobel ranks top in the German top-flight while also keeping four clean sheets from six during Switzerland's World Cup qualifiers too.

Regarded for his elite shot-stopping, Kobel also possesses fast reflexes that have seen him make vital stops while also boasting a strong command of the penalty area.

4) Nico Schlotterbeck (Germany)

Borussia Dortmund have been one of the meanest sides in Europe this season and Nico Schlotterbeck has a lot to do with it.

His leadership skills, positional awareness and vital interventions has seen him become a highly sought-after centre-back, with rumor mill linking him to Real Madrid.

Schlotterbeck will be an important member in Germany's squad at the World Cup and he will have the chance to prove it this week when Die Mannschaft take on Switzerland and Ghana.

3) Ramy Bensebaini (Algeria)

Algeria have some marquee names in their squad who helped them secure a place at the 2026 FIFA World Cup, but Ramy Bensebaini was a vital cog in the wheel too.

He possesses excellent reading ability that allows him to sniff out any incoming danger, while never shying away from a duel to regain possession.

Bensebaini is also a reliable penalty scorer, having dispatched all 14 attempts for his club and country, including two for Dortmund last week in their comeback win over Hamburg.

2) Julian Ryerson (Norway)

Borussia Dortmund's assist-king Julian Ryerson will be return to action for Norway as the Nordic side prepares for their first World Cup appearance since 1998.

Ryerson was an instrumental figure during the qualifiers, especially in their vital 4-1 drubbing of Italy on the last day as the wing-back made two assists on that historic, qualification-sealing night.

He will be eager to continue that run against the Netherlands and Switzerland this month, hoping to add to his tally of 18 assists for club and country this season.

1) Carney Chukwuemeka (Austria)

Following lengthy speculations, Carney Chukwuemeka finally switched allegiance from England to Austria and is all set for his international debut this week as Das Team play Ghana on Thursday.

Having represented England at various youth levels, the Vienna-born midfielder hadn't received a call-up from Thomas Tuchel for the Three Lions squad yet.

So as the World Cup is fast approaching, Chukwuemeka jumped ships. A talented young midfielder with maturity and vision that belies his age, he could be a treat to watch in international colors too.
