Borussia Dortmund just had one of their busiest summer transfer window in recent history. It ended with seven new signings and an outlay of over 100 million euros.
Following the disappointment of another trophyless run in 2025-26 season, winds of change blew over Signal Iduna with some old guards leaving and young and dynamic new faces joining in.
Three games into the new season, we've already seen them in action. Some have impressed and already demonstrated potential to become club greats, while a few are still biding their time.
Here's a look at Dortmund's seven summer signings of 2026:
1) Joane Gadou
Signed from Red Bull Salzburg for €19.5 million, the Frenchman already seems like a great fit for their backline. After impressing in the preseason, where he appeared six times, Gadou has stoodout in the season proper for his athleticism and robustness, cementing the void left by the injured Nico Schlotterbeck.
2) Justin Lerma
It couldn't have started any better for Justin Lerma, who scored in his first appearance for Dortmund in their first preseason match against RW Oberhausen. But he struggled to keep up that form and soon lost his place in the side once first-teamers arrived and has now joined the club's youth team, where the Ecuadorian will hope to continue his development that leads to his senior debut soon.
3) Kaua Prates
Only turning 18 last month, we're yet to see Kaua Prates properly in action. The Brazilian accrued just 49 minutes of action in two preseason games (against Arsenal and AS Roma), while appearing for another 43 minutes in the new season. But in the limited timespan, he's shown his potential with passing while also demonstrating his attacking eagerness with a shot in the 2-0 win over Hamburger.
4) Konstantinos Karetsas
After scoring in his unofficial debut against Arsenal, Karetsas hasn't looked back. The Greek's direct and aggressive attacking style has added a new dimension to BVB's offensive vanguard, while at 34.2 km/h, injected the kind of pace which Dortmund normally tend to lack. He hounded Hamburger SV in their first Bundesliga match of the season with six shots but also bagged his first assist in the game.
5) Joey Veerman
He could be Dortmund's new deep-lying playmaker; a tempo-setter who could be vital to ball distribution whilst also protecting the back-three in transition. With Felix Nmecha and Jobe Bellingham forging an unbeatable partnership in midfield, Veerman has had to contend with substitute appearances in the big games, but showed his range of talents in the cup win over HEBC where also assisted Fabio Silva for his first direct goal-contribution in BVB colors.
6) Giannis Konstantelias
Another Greek gun who had made a prolific start to life in Dortmund, Konstantelias created a goal in the Supercup loss to Bayern and then scored on his Bundesliga debut against Die Rothosen. But an unfortunate ACL injury will now sideline him for months, hampering his progress. However, there's no denying his potential. With consistent gametime, he could become the next big superstar at the club.
7) Ethan Nwaneri
Dortmund appeared to have done their share of business after the Konstantelias signing. But the midfielder's injured prompted the club to step into the transfer market once more and roped in Nwaneri as his direct replacement. Known for exceptional close-control, eye-catching dribbles and creative passing, the Englishman possesses a fearsome attacking skilleset that we could get a glimpse of later tonight against Hoffenheim.
