Borussia Dortmund enter the final month of their 2025-26 campaign as May marks the end of yet another long and drawn-out season.
Having been eliminated from cups a while ago, the BVB have only three league games to negotiate this month before wrapping it up for the season.
Last week, they officially secured Champions League qualification with a 4-0 drubbing of Freiburg and could nail down the runners-up spot this weekend too if things go their way.
Here's a glance at Dortmund's last three games of the season:
Borussia Monchengladbach vs Borussia Dortmund, 3 May
A struggling Foals host Dortmund at the Borussia Park later today as the two Borussia sides renew hostilities. In more recent times, the BVB has held a dominion over their rivals, going their last six unbeaten and winning five.
In fact, since 2015, the Black and Yellows have lost thrice in 25 meetings with Gladbach in all competitions while winning on a staggering 21 occasions, including in their first league meeting of this season. Indeed, they have won more times over the Foals than any other German team with 62 wins in history.
Dortmund are now aiming for their first league double in the fixture since 2023-24 season and will feel confident of their chances after seeing that their hosts are winless in their last five consecutive top-flight matches.
Borussia Dortmund vs Eintracht Frankfurt, 8 May
Dortmund play their last home game of the 2025-26 Bundesliga season against Eintracht Frankfurt in another potential banana skin. The Eagles are in seventh place, the last European spot, and will be doing everything in their capacity to remain within the top seven places of the league table.
Quite notably, the sides played out a pulsating 3-3 draw earlier this season in Frankfurt. Dortmund saw their lead cut down twice in the match before the visitors went in front in stoppage-time. Carney Chukwuemeka scored minutes later to equalize and save Dortmund the blushes at home.
Werder Bremen vs Borussia Dortmund, 16 May
This one looks easy on paper given Werder Bremen's lowly standings on the table, Dortmund's overwhelming record in the fixture and the fact that they've won by at least three goals on the final matchday of the last two seasons in a row.
The River Islanders are only six points off the relegation play-offs in 15th place on the Bundesliga standings and could well find themselves in the drop zone by the end of the campaign if their results don't improve in the last three fixtures.
However, Bremen are the side that Dortmund have won the most against after only Gladbach with 57 wins including a 3-0 vanquish at the Signal Iduna Park back in January. They haven't lost to the Green-Whites since 2022.
