Borussia Dortmund were still only reeling from the news of Nico Schlotterbeck getting injured during a training session with Germany, that they were hit with another concerning development: Julian Ryerson going off after just 16 minutes into Norway's clash against Wales on Friday.
The 28-year-old is now said to have left their camp and will miss their last match of the international window in Portugal tomorrow. But more importantly, the BVB would be fretting over his availability for the congested fixture list over the next 30 days.
Although it's not confirmed yet as to how serious the injury is, fans already appear rattled, taking to X to make their feelings know. Here are some of the reactions to the news of Ryerson getting injured for Norway:
One frustrated Norwegian wrote:
"Ryerson is so damn injury-prone. Why does he start when he’s constantly carrying a knock?"
Ryerson er så jævlig kjeks. Hvorfor starter han når han hele tiden er halvskadd?

The sentiment was echoed by another fan who was furious upon seeing Ryerson 'burn out' by a series of games:
"Julian has suffered a setback—he’s had to be substituted again!
It just makes me sick to see a valuable player of ours being thoughtlessly burned out and run into the ground like this; it’s an absolute scandal!"

#Ryerson #Norwegen…
OneFootball writer Jose I. Araoz talked of the changes that Niko Kovac would now have to make for Dortmund:
"How happy Kovac must be...
Ryerson had to leave in the 16th minute against Wales, and today it was confirmed that he left the camp with a physical complaint.
The FIFA break claims another victim from Borussia Dortmund's defense, which already has a Nico Schlotterbeck with an ankle sprain.
And the worst part of all is that the Norwegian doesn't have a direct replacement in his position. Kovac is going to have to improvise with Beier or with Svensson."
Lo contento que debe estar Kovac...

Ryerson tuvo que salir al minuto 16 ante Gales y hoy se confirmó que dejó la concentración con una molestia física.

A fan page of BVB questioned Norway's decision to play him despite picking up a niggle last time:
"So Ryerson injures himself in the last game just to start again a few days later? That's just plain stupid."
Ryerson verletzt sich also im letzten Spiel um ein paar Tage später wieder zu starten? Ist ja richtig dumm https://t.co/WaTX4LMKpL

Another verified Bundesliga fan account assessed the latest injuries that BVB were dealt with, including that of Ryerson:
"Another international-break concern for Dortmund.
Julian Ryerson was forced off after just 16 minutes for Norway after struggling again with injury.
With Nico Schlotterbeck already sidelined, BVB will be desperate to get through the break without another defensive absence."
