Arsenal 2-3 Borussia Dortmund: Player ratings as Karetsas scored on debut

Borussia Dortmund beat Arsenal 3-2 in the Emirates Cup on Sunday as Konstantinos Karetsas scored on his club debut.

Samuele Inacio opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Karetsas doubled their advantage a while later.

Ethan Nwaneri pulled one back for the Gunners in the second half but Joane Gadou restored BVB's two-goal advantage in the 58th minute.

Arsenal reduced the deficit once more as Viktor Gyokeres converted a penalty and brought the Premier League champions within inches of Dortmund.

Gabriel Martinelli appeared to have made it 3-3 in stoppage-time but it was ruled out for offside, as the Gunners were beaten in normal time.

There was a penalty shootout to come later, wherein Mathis Albert's attempt was saved by Illan Meslier while Arsenal dispatched all five of theirs to win 5-4.

Dortmund clinched the 2026 Emirates Cup on their first appearance in the one-off cup game in London, marking their second preseason win in a row and a third overall.

Daniel Svensson - 8: Helped create the first goal before assisting Krates for their second

Jobe Bellingham - 7: Passed the ball around well but was second-best in his duels

Felix Nmecha - 7.5: Laid it off for Inacio to score the opener

Maximilian Beier - 7: Strong in duels and made one cross too

Konstantinos Karetsas - 8.5: What an explosive debut, carrying the ball forward with purpose to leave Arsenal on the tenterhooks and then scoring a sublime inidividual goal off a splendid run too

Samuele Inacio - 8: Put the BVB in front with a confident finish from a tight angle after sneakily running in behind Gabriel Magaelhaes

Fabio Silva - 7: Controlled the ball well and produced a superb turn in the build-up to Dortmund's opener

Kaua Prates - 5: Brought down Christos Tzolis inside the box just minutes after coming on

Mathis Albert - 6.5: Made five recoveries in normal time but missed his kick in the shootouts

Serhou Guirassy - 6: Another no-show from the Guinean, whose form has become a cause for concern

Takato Yamamoto - N/A: Came on for the last few seconds of normal time but displatched his penalty in the shootouts with ease
