Borussia Dortmund beat Arsenal 3-2 in the Emirates Cup on Sunday as Konstantinos Karetsas scored on his club debut.
Samuele Inacio opened the scoring in the seventh minute before Karetsas doubled their advantage a while later.
Ethan Nwaneri pulled one back for the Gunners in the second half but Joane Gadou restored BVB's two-goal advantage in the 58th minute.
Arsenal reduced the deficit once more as Viktor Gyokeres converted a penalty and brought the Premier League champions within inches of Dortmund.
Gabriel Martinelli appeared to have made it 3-3 in stoppage-time but it was ruled out for offside, as the Gunners were beaten in normal time.
There was a penalty shootout to come later, wherein Mathis Albert's attempt was saved by Illan Meslier while Arsenal dispatched all five of theirs to win 5-4.
Dortmund clinched the 2026 Emirates Cup on their first appearance in the one-off cup game in London, marking their second preseason win in a row and a third overall.
