Borussia Dortmund blew away a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga on Friday as former BVB striker Niclas Fullkrug headed in a stoppage-time equalizer.

Daniel Svensson broke the deadlock in the 80th minute before Nico Schlotterbeck made it 2-0 five minutes later with Dortmund seemingly on their way to a fifth consecutive win.

However, the River Islanders punished them for complacency with two late goals. Ludovit Reiss pulled one back in the 88th minute before Fullkrug made it 2-2 in the 92nd minute from a corner.

And just like that, Dortmund's perfect start to the top-flight campaign ended, and in a rather clumsy fashion as the side almost had the game in the bag.

Fans made their frustrations known on X, slamming Kovac and co. for slipping up, a tendency that doesn't seem to get rid of them. Here are some of the reactions to the result:

One X user tweeted:

"Unbelievable how you're still throwing away the game like that. You play brutally well in the second half and then just shit the bed like that. No words"

Another fan appeared to be at the end of his tether:

"You sons of bitches, it’s the same thing over and over—I give up."

One X user claimed these are the kind of games that cost them the title:

"And it's exactly because of games like that that we won't be champions"

Another fan asked:

"There have to be consequences for this. Things cannot go on like this. What is this? The only consequence will be that everyone in charge at the "comfort zone" of Dortmund gets a lifetime contract extension."

One BVB fan slammed the side for having games like these every season:

"Announce the contract extension now! You total failures—Bayern are laughing at you! There are 2–3 games like this every season."

Maximilian Beier received flak from this user, who labeled the squad 'losers':

"Silva brings such energy to the pitch, yet the worst player—Beier—always gets to play the full match. Unbelievable. Even Mathis Albert is better. Thanks for ruining my betting slip, you losers."

One X user made this sarcastic remark:

"The most "Dortmund-esque" match in a long time."

One fan remarked its deeply ingrained in the club:

"Unfortunately, a loser mentality is far too deeply ingrained in the club…"

And finally, a call to get Kovac sacked:

"Kovac out! Finally face the consequences of these performances."
