Borussia Dortmund went down 1-0 to Bodo/Glimt in the Champions League on Wednesday as their seven-match unbeaten run ended.
Just four days after blowing a two-goal lead against Werder Bremen in the Bundesliga to draw 2-2, the BVB were dealt another blow in Norway last night.
Looking devoid of creativity and defensive structure, the Prussians spent much of the first half on the backfoot as Bodo were menacing and cut through their visitors like knife through butter.
After came closing a few times in the first 45 minutes, the Superlaget's persistence paid off in the 52nd minute when Sjovold rounded off a well-worked team-move from close-range.
Dortmund upped the ante after a few substitutions at the hour mark, but a goal remained elusive. Here are the player ratings for Borussia Dortmund:
Gregor Kobel - 6.5: Had to be on his toed when Bodo made a fast start and the Swiss held firm; couldn't do much about Sjovold's winner.
Joane Gadou - 6.5: Made three clearances and eight recoveries but couldn't deal with Bodo's press as many of their earliest shots came from his side of the pitch.
Waldemar Anton - 8: One of the few bright spots throughout; made 16 defensive contributions to repell almost everything that Bodo threw at him.
Ramy Bensebaini - 7: Back in the lineup and back with a bang, keeping his side of the flank quiet with positional awarensss and playing a key role in keeping the ball circulating too.
Daniel Svensson - 7: Got forward well and asked questions of Bodo's defense; laid five crosses on the day too.
Jobe Bellingham - 7: Always looked to make something happen and connected well with the substitutes in the second half too.
Joey Veerman - 7: Contributed defensively when Dortmund were on the backfoot, looking to break Bodo's passing game and launch counter-attacks.
Maximilian Beier - 6: Drifted in and out of the match and besides his uncanny passing ability - 90% accuracy on the night - there wasn't much to see from him.
Konstantinos Karetsas - 5: A truly underwhelming game from the 18-year-old, who was also second-best in his duels, winning just two from seven.
Samuele Inacio - 5: Really poor on the ball and gave it away rather cheaply once which led to a Bodo shot.
Fabio Silva - 5.5: Came away undone by a hat-trick of offside calls; misplaced his passes too often and never really threatened the Bodo goal.
