Borussia Dortmund are gearing up for a busy spell ahead in the month of September as the side indulges in five official matches across three different competitions over the next 18 days.
Not only does the transfer deadline end tonight, but the side would also be in action hours later, flagging off what could be a hectic few weeks before the first international break of the season.
It's been a mixed start to the new campaign for Die Borussen, who lost the Franz Beckenbauer Supercup to Bayern Munich on 22 August but prevailed 2-0 over Hamburg in their Bundesliga opener.
As the season slowly takes off, fixtures are set to come thick and fast. And here's a breakdown of all five of their upcoming games in September.
HEBC vs Dortmund (DFB-Pokal) - 1 September
Dortmund start the month with a first round clash against HEBC in the DFB-Pokal first round tonight. Head coach Niko Kovac is expected to make widespread changes to his lineup but the BVB are still heavy favorites to prevail over the fifth-tier minnows.
Hoffenheim vs Dortmund (Bundesliga) - 5 September
At the weekend, Dortmund resume their Bundesliga season for matchday two as a daunting visit to Hoffenheim awaits them. On their last visit to PreZero Arena in April, the BVB were dealt a 2-1 loss by Die Kraichgauer with Andrej Kramaric scoring an injury-time winner from the penalty spot.
Dortmund vs Villarreal (Champions League) - 9 September
Eight days from now, the BVB start their new Champions League season with a home game to Spanish giants Villarreal, who return to Dortmund almost a year on from their last meeting which ended with the home side dealing them a crushing 4-0 loss. Can the Yellow Submarine get their revenge this time?
Dortmund vs Paderborn (Bundesliga) - 12 September
Just days later, Dortmund welcome a newly promoted side Paderborn to Signal Iduna Park for matchday three of the league season. Back in the Bundesliga after six years, the North-Rhine Westphalia outfit announced their arrival by holding Mainz to a 0-0 draw away from home.
VfB Stuttgart vs Dortmund (Bundesliga) - 19 September
Another potential banana skin here. Dortmund needed two stoppage-time goals on their last visit to Stuttgart, who had held them in a pulsating 3-3 draw at Signal Iduna Park earlier. But Die Roten suffered the worst possible start to the new Bundesliga season, as holders Bayern put them to the sword in a clinical 5-1 demolition job last weekend.
